OUR MISSION is to support equity in education and bridge Kingston's digital divide by providing affordable or fully-sponsored (free) laptops to disadvantaged students who need them to learn and reach their full potential.
Behind the Scenes Timeline
2023 - Research, strategize, test ideas, develop a sustainable plan
2024 - make connections, contract negotiations, create logo, website, marketing, presentation and press materials, letter templates, contact spreadsheets, various databases, etc.
June 2025 - pilot project at Bayridge Secondary School - 40 students applied for laptops immediately
August 2025 - Limestone District School Board approved SLAP! for launch at all district secondary schools

Impact of all new donation funds will be doubled until matching donation is fully satisfied
ReBOOT Canada permits SLAP! to fundraise under their charitable umbrella. We can now issue tax receipts for eligible donations
